Warwick Road from 22 June
THE ART OF CHANGE BY LUCY OATES
Floor-painted mural, created together with the local community.
Warwick Road Apron, opposite the entrance to Earl's Court Station (Warwick Road), is repainted in durable and temporary acrylic outdoor paint depicting an abstract artwork of a bright collage of colours designed by local artist Lucy Oates. The design is created with the help of the local community. Lucy is a mural artist from West London. Lucy studied and completed her MA at the Royal College of Art and in 2020 was awarded the Chelsea Arts Club Trustee Award which has enabled her to facilitate printmaking and mural workshops in London.
Framing the floor mural, on the hoardings another art installation showcases outstanding portraits of young people that were taken of each other at photography workshops as part of ‘A Day in your Life’ photography competition, a community-minded project set up to help young, aspiring photographers and creatives from ages 4 – 17 years. Founded by multi-award-winning artist Alison Jackson – an Earl’s Court resident, former RBKC Cllr and Ambassador to the K&C Foundation.
This installation is supported by The Earls Court Development.
